What fits in the 15-yard dumpster

Fit is two checks: the footprint on your property, and the weight on the landfill scale. Volume alone will mislead you.

Boards under a 15 yard roll-off dumpster on a gravel driveway in Boise, ID - Boise Bins
  • 16 ft long

  • about 7 ft wide

  • 4 ft tall

Published size: 16 ft long, 83 in wide (about 7 ft), 48 in tall (4 ft).

Estimate: About 7 to 8 level pickup loads. Level loads, not heaped.

Start with the spot, not the pile

The rental page gives the bin as 16 ft long, about 7 ft wide, and 4 ft tall. You need a clear spot that size, with a straight path for the truck. Boards go under the rails. If the drive is shorter, the bin does not shrink to match it. Look at the city page for Boise, Garden City, or Eagle if the lot is the tight kind.

Then count level loads

The size guide says about 7 to 8 level pickup loads, and it says level, not heaped. A pickup of bagged clothes is not a pickup of books, dirt, or roofing. Use the project pages to see which debris is even allowed, then assume heavy material hits the weight cap before it hits the rim.

Included weight is 2,000 lbs. Extra weight is billed per pound. The maximum load is 7,000 lbs on the rental page and in the agreement. Call if the job is close to that cap.
